I took my first cruise to celebrate my 50th birthday and haven’t stopped. That first Western Caribbean cruise was followed by sailings along the Baltic and Adriatic Seas, the Mediterranean Ocean, the Bay of Biscay and the Norwegian Fjords(one of my favourites).

Provided you pick the right cabin on the right ship and the right itinerary for you, a cruise can inject a dose of affordable luxury into your travel plans. And cruises are a great choice for solo travellers, even if you are travelling alone for the first time.
