BELGIUM

In my view, Belgium is one of the most underrated countries in Europe. I have been there on multiple occasions but there are still places that I would like to visit.

For a small country, it punches above its weight. Although many people make a beeline for stately Brussels or the fairytale charms of Bruges, my favourite places include gorgeous Ghent and the sand dune-studded coastline around Ostend, as well as more hidden gems like Leuven, Hasselt and Mechelen.

And who doesn’t love a plate of moules and frites, washed down with a bottle of Belgian beer?
