Are you considering booking a room at Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4? Then you’ve come to the right place. This is my go-to pre-flight Heathrow hotel and I’m excited to share my experiences.
If you are looking for a comfortable budget hotel within easy walking distance of London Heathrow Airport T4, this Premier Inn could be the solution. Room rates in 2025 start from £35 for a standard room.
This is a bargain for a Heathrow hotel, let alone one that is within easy walking distance of one of the terminal buildings. The alternatives are the more expensive 4-star hotels that are also walkable from the airport’s terminal buildings or one of the many hotels scattered around the airport’s perimeter.
So is this airport hotel worth booking? I spill the beans in this Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 review.

My Experience of Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4
Premier Inn at London Heathrow T4 offers two types of rooms:
- Standard Double – this is the room type that I stayed in and have reviewed
- Premier Plus Double – this room design has enhancements that include Ultimate Wi-Fi, a Nespresso machine, a rainfall shower and a mini-fridge.
Check-in
From the hotel’s entrance, I took the lift down one level to the hotel’s main lobby to check-in. Although there was a bank of self-check-in terminals, Charlotte, the receptionist, was happy to help.
The hotel was undergoing renovation when I stayed, which carried a risk of noise when the builders started work in the morning. Charlotte took the trouble to find me a room where this wouldn’t be an issue.
This is typical of the customer care that I have experienced at Premier Inn hotels in the past.
The earliest check-in time at Premier Inn Terminal 4 is 2 pm. Check-out is by 12 noon on your departure date.
The room
My room on the 2nd floor overlooked a small courtyard. It was spacious for two people sharing, let alone solo occupancy. The noise insulation was excellent.
Decorated in tasteful grey and burgundy tones, it had excellent lighting with a combination of downlighters and lamps.
Storage space was limited but perfectly adequate for a one-night stay. There was an open space for hanging clothes if needed.
The Hypnos king-sized bed was super comfortable with decent linen and plump pillows.
There was also a sofa bed flanking the window. Opposite the bed was a wall-mounted television.
Below this was a desk area that housed a kettle with limited supplies for making hot drinks – two sachets of instant coffee, two Twining’s tea bags, UHT milk and sugar/sweetener.
Power points were plentiful throughout the room and USB charging points were also available. An in-room safe, generous fridge, iron and ironing board were available.
Opposite the entrance to the bathroom was a small vanity unit that housed a reasonably powerful hairdryer. The bathroom was clean and functional with a large mirror and good lighting.
Wi-Fi
Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided to all guests staying at Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4. Whilst this is not lightning fast, it is adequate for checking email and for Internet browsing.
If you need a faster connection, you can purchase Ultimate Wi-Fi for £5 for 24-hour access.
Eating and drinking at Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4
The standard Premier Inn Thyme restaurant serves dinner and breakfast. There is also a bar and a 24-hour Costa Coffee outlet.
As I was grabbing a quick bite to eat in the BA Lounge before boarding my flight, I didn’t have breakfast at the Premier Inn. However, if experience is anything to go by, this is worth considering.
For £11.99 (2024 price) you can fill your boots with as much as you like, from healthy fruit and yoghurt to a full English Breakfast, pastries and pancakes. A Continental Breakfast option is available for £9.99. Both are served with unlimited drinks.
Getting There & Away
From Heathrow T4
To get to Heathrow Terminal 4 by public transport you have four main options: the National Express coach service, London Underground’s Piccadilly Line (the ‘Tube’) and Elizabeth Line or the ludicrously expensive Heathrow Express train from London Paddington.
When you reach Terminal 4 take the lift up to the Departures level and make your way to Zone G, where you will find the entrance to the covered footbridge to the hotel. From here, it’s a five-minute walk to the Premier Inn. As this can be a chilly walk in winter, wrap up warm.
To Heathrow Terminals 2,3 and 5
If your plane leaves from Terminal 4, retrace your steps along the covered walkway. But even if you are leaving from one of Heathrow’s other terminals, this is also an easy journey.
Heathrow Connect train service to Terminals 2 and 3
Follow the walkway in T4 and then take the lift down to this free train service. Give yourself 30 minutes to make this journey.
Local bus to Terminal 5
For T5, it’s quicker and easier to use the local bus service. Buses 482 or 490 will take you to T5 in 15 minutes.
The bus stop is less than a minute’s walk from the Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4. Take the lift down to the ground floor, exit the building, turn left and use the walkway adjacent to the hotel on the same side of the road. The TfL bus stop will be clearly visible.
Car parking
If you want to drive to the airport, you can book a hotel package that includes parking through Holiday Extras.
The Bottom Line: Is the Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 a Good Budget Choice?
I confess that I have a weakness for a Premier Inn hotel. With one notable exception, in my experience, the chain has achieved the right balance between comfort and affordability.
Price-wise, the Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 was a steal, costing less than the taxi fare from my home to the airport.
The room was basic but functional, quiet and comfortable, and customer service was exemplary. From hotel check-out to check-in at Heathrow T4 you are looking at ten minutes. And as you can get to the other terminals within 30 minutes maximum, Premier Inn London Heathrow T4 is also a great option if you are flying out of T2, T3 or T5.
Other Heathrow Terminal 4 Hotels
If the Premier Inn isn’t a good fit for you, take a look at the three other hotels that are within walking distance of Heathrow Terminal 4. All of these are mid-range, 4-star hotels.
Hilton London Heathrow Airport
This multi-award-winning Heathrow T4 hotel has been extensively refurbished and is the Premier Inn’s next-door neighbour.
Its rooms are comfortable and many overlook the Hilton’s lovely parkland which has running and walking trails. If indoor exercise is more your thing, there’s a gym.
There are three choices of eating/dining venues.

Crowne Plaza London Heathrow T4
A night in this 4-star hotel, connected to the terminal building via a covered bridge, shouldn’t break the bank. Its airy rooms have comfy beds, triple-glazed windows, tea and coffee-making facilities and deluxe toiletries.
There’s a bar, an award-winning restaurant and a gym.

Holiday Inn Express – London Heathrow T4
This is another great option, also from the IHG stable.
Connected to the Heathrow T4 via a covered bridge, the rooms at this Holiday Inn Express are smaller than those at the Crowne Plaza but comfortable and well-equipped. All-day dining is available at the Express Cafe or you can pop next door to eat at the Crowne Plaza.

Sound insulated and you wouldn’t even know you were next to an airport no sounds no vibrations staff a wonderful nothing is too much problem and usually very affordable compared to others near by what more do you need Thank You So Much Permier Inn for a wonderful location
It’s ridiculous you should pay for parking separately. I am not satisfied with that. When I stayed this hotel I payed £16 every night extra for parking.
